We will pick you up at your hotel or place of accommodation within the urban perimeter of Bogotá. Outside this perimeter, it can lead to extra costs.
— We pick you up at your hotel or place of accommodation from Bogotá and depart to the state of Huila on a journey of approximately 6 hours with road breaks. (you have different pick-up times and this is subject more than anything to your likeness for a road trip at night or day and if you want to arrive to the town for a little rest or straight away to the activities on schedule).
— Arrival in the nearest town to the Desert: Villavieja, Huila. Check-in at the hotel, time for lunch and rest.
— We begin the tour through the first desert area: El Cuzco. Reddish arid zone, from there we will contemplate the sunset and take advantage of the perfect scenario to take pictures.
— Registration and entrance to the astronomical observatory of La Tatacoa. From this geographically privileged place, due to its location close to terrestrial Ecuador and lacking in light and auditive contamination, we can observe some of the 88 constellations alongside a professional astronomer who will explain all the secrets of the celestial vault.
— We return to the town of Villavieja. Free time.
— Town tour. We will visit the Villavieja’s town learning about the history and customs of the locals, then we embark on a boat ride along the Magdalena River that will take us to discover part of the economy of its inhabitants and fauna of the area.
— Return to the hotel, time for lunch and rest.
— Valley of the Xilópalos. In a walk of approximately 3 hours, we will visit natural areas such as the Snake’s passage, Valley of the Beautiful & Lady’s Step.
— We return to the town of Villavieja. Free time.
— Check-out of the hotel and we start the return to Bogotá.
— Stop at a roadside restaurant – time for lunch or break.
— Return to your hotel or place of accommodation in Bogotá.
