Day 1:
03:00 am. We will pick you up at your hotel/accommodation from Bogotá or if you prefer at the airport in the city of Armenia.
– If you take the option from Bogotá, we leave for the state of Quindio on a journey of approximately 8 hours with breaks on the road.
– If you take the option from Armenia, we leave for Salento in a journey of approximately 90 minutes.
Please note that your arrival in Armenia is on your own, we will pick you up at El Eden Airport and this option is recommended for those who prefer to take flights instead of traveling by land.
11:00 am. Arrival in Salento. Check-in. Rest and lunch time.
12:30 pm. We begin the tour through the first area of the coffee axis: Valle del Cocora. From there, you choose whether to tour the valley on horseback (2 hours approx.) or walking uphill (4 hours approx.), we will contemplate the majestic valley from its four most important points in the company of our local guide and we will take advantage of the perfect setting to take photographs. .
05:00 p.m. Return to Salento, free time. Here you can enjoy its iconic streets and the magnificent atmosphere of this coffee town. The hotel is only 5 minutes away by walking from the main square, or you can just let us know to take you back to the hotel.
08:00 a.m. We leave for Filandia, this town, 45 minutes away from Salento has an extensive agricultural and natural offer. It is the oldest town in the coffee region.
09:00 a.m.: We arrive at the municipality ‘’La Julia’’, where you can have an approach to the agricultural environment of the region, driven in addition to coffee, by flower crops, from this rural experience you can collect flowers, understand the local economy and learn of the floriculture process.
12:30 p.m.: Time for lunch.
01:00 p.m: Town tour. We will walk the urban center of Filandia, learning about the history, heritage, and customs of the locals, then we will visit the house workshop of ”Bejuqueando Ando” where you will learn while interacting in the artisanal craft of basketry, the intangible heritage of the coffee region.
03:00 p.m: We will visit the Barbas Bremen sanctuary, on a walk of approx. 2 hours, you will find beautiful spaces of tropical forest and with some luck, we will see howler monkeys, sloth bears, birds, butterflies, and armadillos in their natural habitat.
05:00 p.m.: Return to Filandia, free time.
06:00 p.m.: We leave for our new destination, Santa Rosa de Cabal.
08:00 p.m.: Check-in at hostel. Rest time.
09:00 a.m. Check out. We will begin the day with a walk full of greenery and water where you will discover the water sources that emerge from the earth at high temperatures, a spectacular waterfall of cold water and different species of fauna and flora unique in the world.
01:45 p.m.: Time for lunch.
02:30 p.m: We leave for the hot springs of Santa Rosa de Cabal.
03:00 p.m. Time for a good coffee: we will visit the coffee farm of Juan, the most authentic farmer and coffee expert you will ever meet, there, we will learn about the coffee culture, the cultivation process, lush coffee plantations and an exquisite tasting of coffee grown right there.
05:30 p.m. Santa Rosa de Cabal Hot Springs. It’s time to relax in the middle of paradise. This jewel in the middle of the Andean forest offers you a 95-meter-high waterfall, 4 thermal pools of natural water, and a dream landscape. There you can rest in this Eden of nature to close your journey through the coffee region, free time until 09:00 p.m.
—: Return subject to your decision on the same night in the hot springs: You decide the time to spend in the hot springs, and from there we will return to Armenia / El Eden Airport or Bogotá / Place of accommodation.
If you take the option to Bogotá, we leave from the state of Quindio to Bogotá on a journey of approximately 8 hours with breaks on the road.
If you take the option to Armenia, we leave for Armenia on a journey of approximately 2 hours. This option is recommended for those who prefer to take flights instead of traveling by land.
– You must contact Paraiso Travels at least 48 hours before your product date to confirm your reservation and arrange details such as staff, transportation, and tickets.
– Use the contact details on your confirmation/voucher. Upon pickup, please present your confirmation/voucher in exchange for your product to our staff.
– The visit to Barbas Bremen takes place in the habitat of the Howler Monkey, and therefore it is not guaranteed that in every visit you will be able to see the Howler Monkey or other animals mentioned in the itinerary since they are wild animals that move in a very large are and are not domesticated. However, we can say that in 90% of the routes you can at least hear its howl.
– Please note that your arrival from Armenia is at your own expense, we will pick you up at El Edén Airport and this option is recommended for those who prefer to take flights instead of traveling by land. We do not cover flights or plane tickets.
– Keep in mind that the hostel at Santa Rosa de Cabal might have a shared bathroom, this is subject to the amount of guests at the time of our arrival.
